Mini Olympics / Feast of the Assumption.
On Tuesday the fourteenth of August the junior syndicate had the mini Olympics.They had an opening ceremony.There were potato sack races ,vortex throwing,discus and lots of other events.Japan came first and China came second. We watched the vortex throws, there was Kenya, USA and China.We watched William,Leilani and Turokura. William won.
The next day,we had a mass for the feast of the Assumption of Mary.We had a technical difficulty with the projector and had to sing Ka Waiata off by heart.After we had sung the Waiata Father Albano came in with his white robes and his microphone strapped to his side.

Michael Mangan Concert.
Michael Mangan was born in Brisbane Australia. He is a singer/songwriter that likes to teach music and sing.He put on a concert at Sacred Heart church on Monday the thirteenth of August.He sang a few songs that he wrote himself.It was pretty cool his songs were awesome!He is very funny at sometimes during the concert. He made jokes in between songs.

Arisa
This is Arisa from Tokyo in Japan. She is here for 4 weeks visiting her cousins from our school Anais and Milla. Arisa is a year 8 so she is in Kakapo. Arisa is really good at maths and has really neat writing. She can speak really good English. Back in Japan she goes to an all-girls school called Joshi Seigakuin. She is wearing her own

Bill from the Cook Islands
Bill told us about the 1988 Olympics in Seoul and showed us the souvenir medals he got there, he was in the 800m . He showed us the torch from the Sydney Olympics in 2000 as well . He also told us that when he was a kid,he was over weight and had asthma. He trained until he lost weight and got rid of his asthma. He told us how he balanced running and school and the benefits of the training. Bill told us about the athlete camp/village he went to, and how he stayed there for a while during the Olympics. by Paul

Lui turning on the dataprojector!!!!!!!
This is a picture of Lui Ioane turning on the dataprojector, he was very excited to finally turn on the dataprojector. After Lui had turned on the dataprojector we watched a video on the blog, the video was of the Sacred Heart year 7 and 8 basketball team , they played really well!!!! Well done basketball players!
